Well, they ‘helped’ people who couldn’t be helped by removing brainwashing. Getting rid of the brainwashing > unconsentful transformation, when consent is impossible to give. Especially since after the transformation, now they can go get transformed back as many of them are.
So I think it was the right call.
Oh, no question it was a good call. You just need to understand the context, and once they bring “BW” (the crystalline Hearts inspector) up to speed, she will understand why they did it.
This flashback is them bringing her up to speed, I just left out three redundant panels of her going “Oh, alright.”
