Sorry this one had to go up in the evening instead of the morning, folks. Combination of super-long workday yesterday combined with anxiety attack destroyed my ability to make good comics. Thank goodness this one didn’t have a background…

Well… that’s worrisome… who was the fifth assassin for, I wonder?
Kili was one; Sarin was two; Goro, Aki and/or Amy was three; Mori herself was probably four … who else would the demons have wanted to eliminate at the same time? Rina? I really, really hope not, but….
Cary? That seemed to be what the last scene with her was leaning towards.
Cary seems unlikely considering her status. Josh and especially Rina are possible candidates, but from the linked comic, the latter seems more in direct danger from Cary then the demons. Unless they tried to use her as a suicide killer. Which wouldn’t answer the question of who was the target though. I can think of a few candidates, but I’m not sure how they would qualify important enough to be targeted.
Of course it could be an attempt at Elka or so we haven’t seen yet. Or simply a ruse to throw Mori off tracks. The latter would fit the demon’s m.o. quite well.
As far as “scarred for life” goes… I rather get the feeling that at least a good part actually grew from the experience. So more like an attempt to sow doubt in Mori. Leading her to always second guess her comrades and search them for signs of the mental wounds inflicted.
Wait … I’m remembering Cary’s subordinate who had a report that couldn’t wait. Maybe…?
I’d suspect that was about the demons being on the move. That or Rina.
Elka was visible in scenes near the end of the werewolf threads, so it’s unlikely to be her.
Where’s Inspector Blue?
Would be one of my suspects as well.
Hmm. perhaps the adopted daugther? that one she did adopt before she joined the Dragon docters.
I finally catch up and it’s on one of the few cliffhangers where I’ve had no idea what MIGHT happen, let alone what would probably happen. On the one hand: Oh no! On the other: Yay!
Darn it, haven’t read this in a long time and have forgotten plot points.
On the upside, this means I get to read it all over again. Time for an archive binge.
