AAAH I SUCK! Sorry. Comics will be up Friday and Saturday. I am filled with shame. I’m sorry, like I said, I’m battling burnout. I love, love LOVE the Dragon Doctors, but I’ve been planning this story for so long everything seems years old to me. ARRRGH.
No, you don’t suck at all (unless you are Kirby :P). You’re just tired after work or have important things to take care of. That’s perfectly okay, take all the time you need.
Cheers.
…really? That’s what you’re saying to try to stop Sarin from killing you?
Well, demons have demonstrated they’re not exactly the brightest bulbs in existence. They just can’t help themselves from a good gloating.
Someone beaten, broken, and absolutely terrified doesn’t generally have the wherewithal to tell a decent lie.
This makes me wonder just how many people the Demons have already “erased”. How many people have already fought them, but been defeated and forgotten by all. What if there’s been this big battle going on all the time, but nobody was even aware that anything was wrong?
Hmm…actually that sounds pretty close to what HAS been happening.
I started wondering about a story where the characters defeat some sort of memory/person eraser and then find out that there was a member of their group that they never even knew about. They just all suddenly remember this guy that the audience has never seen before. I think it probably wouldn’t work that well, since it would read like bad character-insert fan-fiction unless lots of clues were dropped along the way.
Alternately, that premise could be used as a ruse by evil people wanting to infiltrate a group. They set up a spell so that everybody “suddenly remembers” their old friend Bob I. Amaspy and are really grateful that their memories have been restored after all these years.
…Not that you need any help coming up with clever and creative story ideas. 🙂
Reminds me of this one Torchwood episode, “Adam”. An entity’s survival was based on people knowing who he is, and he could insert fake memories to make people remember him.
There’s a Stargate SG-1 episode about it, too: an alien (via a powder, I think?) used its abilities to make SG-1 think he was a member of the team, since he was being hunted by the Goa’uld, and wanted their help to survive.
Have you ever read John Dies at the End? That sounds like something that happened in that story.
