Settle down, Speedy. I’ve had a hernia before, it’s not fun.
You think it hurts now? Wait until after the surgery is done. Even with painkillers, I couldn’t use the bathroom properly for near 24 hours afterwards. I was also confined to my house, near bed-ridden and had to walk very, very carefully, and very slowly for a week.
The weird thing is, this is an umbillical hernia. My bellybutton doesn’t hurt at all, it’s just got a weird lump on it. But I think a nerve is being touched that gives me the uncomfortable sensations down below.
Please don’t put us before your health. We love you too much for you to hurt yourself. If you have to put out SOMETHING why not dictate the scrip for the next page?
Your health comes first. I can’t imagine the pain that you have endured sitting at you desk, working on the comic. Take all the time you need for your recovery. We will still be here when you can get up and around better. May God bless you and speed your recovery. And may he bless your surgeons & the operating room staff. And your nurses and caregivers, as well.
Sitting down isn’t as bad as standing up all day, which I DID do yesterday as my Thursday job requires a lot of it. That’s why my Fridays have been sparse for the last ten months or so.
Thanks for the update. Now make sure you get it fixed and worry about yourself instead of us until it’s done! And best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
And if anyone gives you grief about not being able to update the comic until you’re better: I’ve got a Cluebat and I’m not afraid to use it!
Hey, if you think we’re gonna blame you, you’ve got another think coming. With a malady like that I’d say you get carte blanche to take all the break time you need! Heaven knows, I’ve taken time away from my work for worse reasons.
As always, take your time and ensure that you get well – there’s no point suffering for our sake, we’ll still be here when you are better and we can wait. Hope you get well soon 🙂

Take it easy, we can wait.
