(Preview up early) Jesus, that was a long chapter, and it took a long time to finish. Heh. Sorry, guys.
I should let you know that we’re entering Dragon Doctors endgame-time here. The comic’s Tinto mega-arc will finish in a handful of chapters. But that won’t be the end of the continuity, far from it. You’ll like what I give you. And you’ve all been so good to me, despite my physical and mental injuries in the past year preventing me from being as good to you as you deserve. Thank you, all of you, for sticking with me.
Good news, everyone! Everything Cary has done up to now was only half measures. Now we get to see what Cary’s idea of total commitment looks like!
I’m not sure how that’s good news
It’s not good news. At all. o_o
No Speedball, thank YOU for sharing a great comic with us, despite the troubles to make it.
Seconded.
Strongly seconded indeed!
Cary going in war. it can’t end well for the innocent people at all.
and no worries Speedball. thank you for doing a great comic. 🙂
Can’t end well for ANYBODY. No worries, Speedball. Submit the comic at your own pace, and we’ll enjoy it at ours.
Not ending the continuity but ending the “mega-arc” … does it means that next story won’t be about dragon doctors? How far away in time it would be?
It could be just a few years and “The adventures of Elka and her trusty sidekicks” or along those lines. I think we all could get behind that.
Or Hitomi as part of the main cast from the beginning.
Hmm. There’s as much chance of the story continuing with the Dragon Doctors as there is with the story continuing with a newer set of Dragon Doctors, descended and recruited by the other Doctors.
I think the continuation will probably focus on both how things go forward, and more on the various patients that the Dragon Doctors treat and help.
There’s lots of room for continuation, and I look forward to the completion of the Tinto storyline, as well as what comes next.
It sounds like you have worked out a framework for the time ahead. That is good and, hopefully, should make it easier to concentrate on the story and artwork. Not that there is anything wrong with them.
So I take it that this is what the demons wanted. Cary going all out war against them.
Which is quite likely way more destructive than her previous work. But at the same time way less effective and with a much bigger chance for the demons of getting to her.
Anger can be something you can channel into willpower. Into the ability to persevere even against overwhelming odds. But if it ever controls you or influences your actions, you will make mistakes. You will create openings others will be able to exploit.
Cary’s wanton destruction has been FEEDING the demons, with all the suffering and despair they could ever want, and now she’s going to open up the buffet and make it all you can eat. Shame that knife missed. Cary needs to go down, yesterday.
What happens when the spark of rebellion realizes that it’s part of the problem in the current world order?
Ever wonder why so many prior holders of said spark burned out and died young?
We might find out one of the reasons why very soon!
Colors!
…I hope Cary is only metaphorically on fire in the last panel, or she just torched her girlfriend’s clothes.
What’s worse is that Cary has some of her girlfriend’s “ash” on her cheek. Whatever the knife’s mojo is all about, let’s hope it’s not contagious.
It very likely will unhinge her even further once she gets a look in the mirror. That much I can tell you.
