Oh, it feels so good to make comics again. I don’t recommend being sick, it’s awful.
This is one of the very few times a character’s problems mirror my own. Usually Greg is NOT an avatar for me. Though at least all the characters are a little me. Except hopefully Preston Chang or Cary…
The battle against this demon is never-ending and only through constant encouragement can it subside. THAT is why I need you people. I’m not an attention-hungry ego-monger, I’m someone in a dark room who can’t see the way forward and needs someone to call out to me. The more the better. Let me know that you care, otherwise my disease will trick me into thinking you don’t.
Now, TOMORROW’s comic will shift topics. Into something much, much more fun. SHOPPING! And DRINKING! And CHARACTERS BONDING OVER FOOD!
I think everyone has at least a little bit of that demon. I know I do. Keep fighting!
Yay! Speedball is back! And with color! Just one question, what are those pink boxes up in the sky?
They look like the computer-esque displays we’ve seen elsewhere in this house – they might be marking constellations.
Yes that goddamned voice will always be there and nagging at you. We all got that. some lesser and some too much.
true, true, though some people have “practically” none of it because they not effect by it all that much…
I think Greg will probably have to wait for the all-clear before he heads out, but in the worst-case scenario he can probably give Gren a phone call.
I know that voice. We’ve all got it to some degree. Sometimes it gets stronger, sometimes you don’t hear it for quite a while.
There is one positive side to it: It is also the voice that keeps us from getting too complacent with ourselves. That drives us to become better.
Nice to have you back!
*Hugs* Glad to see you’re feeling better. I know how that feels too, wrestling with that demon; and for me, it’s largely won. This comic, though; it has helped me break through more than once. Thank you.
It occurs to me… Hitomi has never faced bullying. She doesn’t really know what it’s like.
She doesn’t have first-hand experience, but she likely knows what it is because she saw some series from high school.
Speaking as a homeschooled kid, it’s surprisingly difficult to grok bullying secondhand. I think I was in college before I really read something that made me get the concept.
Yeah, back pain sucks. I’ve had to deal with that before. Also, the past two weeks I’ve not exactly been productive due to a bent, cracked (but not broken) clavicle I got after a tumble on the ski hill. Yeah, two weeks of sleeping propped up so I don’t roll over. It’s SUPER fun. :/
Still reading, and won’t ever really stop. Keep going man.
I know the feeling Speedball, so I want you to know that I do care about you and your work. I actually don’t like a lot of good stories simply because I want to experience great ones more. Believe me when I say that this story is fantastic and I never want you to give up on it. I will keep coming back for more story so long as you keep updating, so please never finish this until it is ready to end so we can experience all the greatness it has to offer.
You see stumbeling in the dark, arms waving wildly as you try not to fall or bump into anything. We see this awesome new dance.
Or something, that actually sounds like a mean thing to do.
Anyway, you might not know where you’re going, but we’re enjoying following you anyway.
“You made a great comic, Speedball.”

Always remember that; and be sure to remind it to your demons also.
