Greg and Hitomi didn’t get much of a chance to cool off and bond before, so here goes. Gonna be a lot of this, the Dragon Doctors family is getting BIG these days…
Fans, readers, let me also tell you: I take NONE of you for granted. If you think I don’t pay attention to a comment you make you’re dead wrong. I eat them up. Make more of them, even if you usually don’t! You are keeping me ALIVE and SANE and I love you all.
Thank you! Sorry for not commenting more. I’m never really sure what to say, so I usually end up not saying anything at all.
That’s fine, because you made me feel better TODAY. I’ll take it. You are a good person.
This is nice!
YOU’RE nice!
Hitomi’s gonna freak out *bad* the first time she’s in a crowd, I think.
“Two’s company, three’s a crowd.” So she technically has already been in a lot of crowds. (=
Most definitely.
I’m incapable of keeping myself sane, how should I keep others sane?

( \/ ) <– Dubious ASCII-art I felt like producing
(——-) (Proving my insanity)
I hate undocumented, unnecessary, unasked-for input processing. “He wrote a dozen spaces, surely he meant to write only one!!11! And let’s destroy all his hyphens, because we can!!!!11einself!!”
Sadly, html does that automatically – the space compression, I mean. :-/
Makes ascii art difficult, and the non-constant spacing is also a problem.
… consider it a challenge? ;-]
Well, they DID just fight off the biggest threat to the area since ages ago, so they do deserve some downtime, some introductions and re-introductions, and probably that nice vacation, preferably on the beach.
Oh, man, Hitomi needs swimming lessons if they’re hitting the beach.
Let’s just hope the beach doesn’t hit back. It packs a serious wallop you know.
Every action, equal opposite reaction, and all that.
This is awesome! So many webcomics just focus on the action, and completely ignore the psychological implications of what happens. But you do such a good job of actually having real people instead of glorified plotbots.
Yup yup, I think having cooldown after action makes sense to me. Especially since I don’t do action as well, haha. But even the quiet time should feel like things are happening.
I typically keep my comments light, because I don’t want to spam. But even if i don’t say anything, i’m still reading, still enjoying.
Trust me, even this “I don’t know what to say” comment made me feel better. I have no way of knowing who cares unless they say, haha.
I wonder what Hitomi will think of her first dawn. And she’ll stay up/get up early to watch it right on first opportunity.
Oh man Aki, Goro and Hitomi’s sleep cycles are gonna be so messed up.

You are appreciated
Wonderful quote. Thank you. I like it a lot.
aww
(* delurks *)
I’ve only recently discovered this comic, and I’m enjoying it. It’s better than most comics because you stop to think about the consequences of what’s happening. That makes it more believable.
(* retreats back into lurkerhoord *)
Aww, thank you!
But can they really relax? They can’t be sure there still aren’t demons around; not to mention the fifth assassination attempt; or Carey’s (†) gang.
Carey’s Gang opposed the Demons, and the authority figures who are often in the way of combating the demons, and who are also a representative of authority to rebel against.
The demons are at least weakened, and probably can’t duplicate Shelinda. Period.
So it’s unlikely that Carey will want to fight the Dragon Doctors at the moment.
Also, we still don’t know if that fifth attempt was a bluff, or if it’s attacked someone else.
I just spent eight hours (divided into a 3-5 split) reading the entirety of your Civ 5 Lets Play.
And I have only one word for it:
Beautiful.
It was, absolutely, worth the time spent reading it. The insight into the game, the humor, the characterization, the story…everything in it was just so WONDERFUL, and as if this comic wasn’t already enough proof of it, the Lets Play is a testament to your skills as a writer. You have a gift for writing an enveloping story.
You hooked me here, you hooked me there, there really is no better word for it than simply…beautiful.
Awwww, thank you! Reading this makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. On the SA forums I’m working on another one: X-COM, The Enemy Within. Everyone gets mutated into different skin and hair colors, haha, and there’s at least one bodyswap in the midst of everyone trying their hardest to look badass to each other while blowing away aliens.
Your post just gave me enough energy to finish off this comic, too, thank you!
Careful, there’s an actual video-game franchise with that moniker, X-Com. You might want to check with the publishers of X-Com ufo defense and its three or four sequels just to be safe.
I think Speedball was saying that he LPed that specific game, but I haven’t read that one. (Also, I don’t think trademark issues really apply cross-market in the same way, but I Am Not A Lawyer.)
We are not that significant. We are just some jerks on the internet.
Humble fans are also nice!
I always enjoy your pages. I can always wait if you need more time for anything!
Thanks. I feel guilty for failing the schedule, though. Very unprofessional of me.
Got some major warm fuzzies from this … really hoping for a nice cool-down arc after all this excitement.
Aww, thanks. I need some cool-down myself after that emotional mega-super-arc.
Good colors – and I’m noticing how uncomfortable Hitomi is, more. She has a lot to deal with now.
