These are mostly ideas I’ve had that are rejected story concepts I’ve worked on before…with the exception of “Strangertown” which is based on “Scarygoround” the webcomic. The author chose to write out a character by having her get sucked into hell and everyone forgetting she ever existed, so nobody would ever try to rescue her. It’s a pretty shockingly definite way to write someone out and conceptually it skeeves me almost as much as it skeeves Tanica.
I like that idea – good use for rejected story ideas!
I didn’t have that kind of visceral reaction to the Strangertown/Scary Go Round scenario, but I can see why someone would. (I know of Scary Go Round, of course, but I never actually got into reading it in a serious way.) Fitting that Tanica would be the one to voice it – she’s analytical about things that way.
Is it just me, or do some people have very subtle nightmares? Personally I get the chased by something scary ones….or caught by something scary, even worse.
Really? I’m the type of person who prefers to just linger in the shadows. Aside from potential difficulties buying stuff, and of course needing to get out of Hell, it doesn’t really sound that bad to me. But I’m a very weird person.
Are these books inspired by anything in particular?

“Gravedigger, when you dig my grave, could you make it shallow? So that I can feel the rain…”
Also, I picked up reading The Dragon Doctors a couple weeks ago, and I’ve been enjoying going through the archives.
Okay, “Strangertown” sounds disturbingly foreshadowy now.
But Sarin still has a card up her sleeve, so that will probably help a lot.
