Panel 6- I appreciate the sentiment, and I’m sure Mr. Stone does too, but doctors and other crisis responders (paramedics, firefighters, etc.) are taught not to make promises like this, because bad things do happen and you can’t always see them coming. Better to say “we’re going to do everything we can, and we think we have a pretty good shot,” which is reassuring and won’t make things worse if something goes wrong later. (Even someone who won’t be around for the aftermath is still capable of making the situation worse while it’s still going on.)
