    Huh! I had been envisioning this as Kili’s memory of Tomo, perhaps leading or simply serving as a representative of all the people Kili’s helped and/or lost throughout her life, coming back out of her mind to defend their [friend/native territory] against the invader.

    This feels a little more deus ex machina, but it’s still nice. And I suppose I can always keep my headcanon that Tomo is at peace and her memory is what showed up here. After all, she and Kili both know what it’s like to lose everything and keep going.
