So, this character’s still around. Heh.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, NEW DONATORS! Each and every one of you brightened my day. I was struggling with super-depression this week.
Maybe having this character show back up is my way of getting it out of my head.
Well, crap. That’s thoroughly terrifying.
…and probably very effective, if not countered quickly. The brain is good at learning not to think about painful subjects. -_-
They might as well get up. Falling back to sleep is no longer an option.
I have decided this is the most cleverly met his story I’ve ever read. The demons attacking the doctors has been the perfect metaphor for you writing through your depression. Out of all the stories I’ve read that break through the fourth wall, I’ve never seen it done in this way this well. You’re awesome Speedball.
Awww, that’s some of the highest praise I’ve ever read. Thanks!
Hmmmmm. If that’s a threat/tease again Mori, it’s a pretty deep cutting one.
But if it’s true, then it’s a weapon to be used, as she can picture how the fifth target can escape, and it might change what happened.
Hmm it’s still linked to Mori- so that means it’s traceable.
Ooh, good thinking! I was going to suggest that Kili try to figure out some way to protect Mori from it, at least partially, but if they can locate it….
Damn. i hate the villain here. so evil and so cruel. a perfect villian.
i hope that they will beat the demon into nothingness.
No.
Beating the demon into nothingness is not a Dragon Doctors punishment.
What would the dragon doctors do?
Trap the demon in life.
A possible way of doing so which I think would build off the depression metaphor is for Mori to accept the demon as a part of her and accept it as real. I’m pretty sure this has some validity, since an idea seems to be that demons are weakened by being given form, by being given acceptance, by being given definition…so Mori very well could beat the demon by making the demon actually be alive.
That’s my thought, at least.
“You’re only human now. By taking my old form, you made yourself mundane, and vulnerable too!”
sounds close to what death did to the auditors in hogfather, and again in thief of time.
. . . odd that they didn’t learn.
Auditors? Learn? Learning is CHANGE. Start of slippery scope to became individuals.
or teach the demon an emotion that it seems to lack.. Fear. crippling fear.
Is Cary the person doing the slapping?
I see the similarity, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t. Especially given what Cary said about her smuggling ring being a force opposing the demons.
Cary is a redhead.
And manic.
It just now hit me that Mori is basically the analyst and data-master of the Dragon Doctors, and her demon is now perfectly reflecting that with its (her?) need for more data.
“It” went all Jonhy-5 there for a moment. “Input!” “MORE INPUT!”
Heh heh. Nice insight.
So wait, Its the “Dark Link” to Mori’s “Link”
