Speedy, you should know by now that we, the fans, will NOT abandon you, unless you abandon us first. As long as you show us you’re alive, we’ll be here and waiting.
Heh, Goro’s gonna find out super quick that short-shorts are a bad idea when you’re covered with fur — anywhere those shorts rub against the skin is going to be annoying as hell. (For a simulation of this, rub some denim jeans against the top of your head for a few hours.)
Even if you can ignore the pain of little hairs getting ripped out every time you move — anywhere it rubs is going to leave bald spots after a while.
A toga or one piece dress, that kind of style clothing, works better with fur. Something that doesn’t tug up against the skin. 😛
Hahahaaha. Logistics. I had something else written down about how “beastman clothing” are meant to mitigate a lot of the negative effects of wearing something over fur but you make a strong case for a skirt or toga.
Well, sun dress, toga, basically something that wouldn’t have elastic or be held on via pressure. That’s assuming our style cloth though, some materials (silk, for example) might not pull the hair out even if rubbed against it. The pressure would still probably be annoying as hell, though.
The top itself however certainly is not a bad choice.
One major problem slightly touched in panels two and three though: Heat! Body heat that is. Which is a lot harder to get rid off when covered in fur. And even more so if you add a layer of clothing. Any layer.
Plus side: Less layers needed in cool environment.
So the love of a family can power the Harmony based devices. Nice!
This will be a good shot in the arm for Goro, as it wasn’t just their plans and their learning new skills that got them out of the trap, but also their love for each other that kept them alive. 🙂
I’m always grateful for any updates, and I’m always glad to see them. Thank you for all your hard work, Speedball. 🙂
Hmm. The downside of the harmony network was its interdependence, right? When it worked, it could do anything- but it only worked if the whole world was fueling it together.
Ironically, a small hyperfast-time field- a perspective from which the outside world is moving so slowly as to be effectively motionless- is probably the only place a harmony collector could still work in a post-harmony world. It needs to be powered by the cooperation of everyone in the world, which is practically impossible… unless “everyone in the world” is four humanoids and a few billion statues.
I also have a folder of bookmarks for the comics that update daily, a Friday evening folder for the comic news websites, and a Sunday folder for the once a week comics.
One: Shaving a full body of fur this thick? That’s a lot of work!
Two: The body is actually built for having fur now. Without it, it will become rather cold quite quickly.
Three: You know that uncomfortable feeling of little stubbles of hair growing back? Imagine having that all along your body. At the same time. Made even worse by the necessity of wearing a full set of clothes.
And that’s just what came to mind within a few heartbeats without actually thinking about it.
I don’t know if they have laser electrolysis, actually. I think a lot of quote-unquote cosmetic procedures may not have been reinvented after various breakings due to the widespread availability of shapechanging magic.
Was gonna work on update today, but friend coerced me into seeing movie with him. Good movie. Now I’m too tired to make comic. But this is healthy for my mind, so I’ll be better at making comics in the future for you all.
No worries! Keep yourself healthy first, and work on the comic second. We can wait, and your health is definitely more important than getting us new updates. 🙂
Also watched American Ultra today (Yeah, I’m Swiss. We’re getting some of the movies somewhat later.). Was quite enjoyable. But I wouldn’t recommend it to people who don’t like that kind of movies (superagent action flicks).
There’s no chance of me abandoning this story. I like your characters, I like your writing, I want to see whatever you come up with next! Even if it takes you a while. 🙂
The machines are powered by LOVE!
…that post would have meant something very different a month ago.

What Uhl said. We are in it for the long haul.

Also: Holy cow, Goro has HAIR! 😀

And it’s a great page, Speed! Kudos to you.
“Heh. You all must love each other very much.”
“Well, yeah.”
Goro is awesome. 😀
Not planning to abandon you. Do what you need to do, dude. And love generates Harmony! Fuck yeah! Love it.
Interessing idea in fact. to think it is very naturefriendly and helping to keep going as long people are happy for each other. cool.
You might not blame me, but I’d blame me. I’ll keep checking back, even though delays.
something tells me they’re going to start generating a profit on harmony pretty soon
As soon as they remember step two!
Oh, Goro is SO cute when she doesn’t want to be.
And she’s as badass as she is cute.
So the love of a family can power the Harmony based devices. Nice!

I’m still checking back nearly every day — just the chance of an update makes it worthwhile. 🙂
I am also a daily checker. For the same reason.
Same. I don’t even close the tab – I just hit “Reload”.
*Chuckles* I have four folders of comics, and I open them almost daily.
They used to be sorted via Daily/Weekly/Semi-Weekly/Odd update.
Now, they’re just repositories for all the comics I read.
Dragon Doctors is one of the comics that I will specifically check, even if I’m not just opening all the comics in the folder.
Oh, geez. I have … like, twenty-five different sorted folders. >_>
I also have a folder of bookmarks for the comics that update daily, a Friday evening folder for the comic news websites, and a Sunday folder for the once a week comics.
Your art’s adequate, and it’s improving. Your story and characterization, however, are magfuckingnificent.
Also, why the hell doesn’t Goro just shave the fur.
Number of possible reasons for that:
One: Shaving a full body of fur this thick? That’s a lot of work!
Two: The body is actually built for having fur now. Without it, it will become rather cold quite quickly.
Three: You know that uncomfortable feeling of little stubbles of hair growing back? Imagine having that all along your body. At the same time. Made even worse by the necessity of wearing a full set of clothes.
And that’s just what came to mind within a few heartbeats without actually thinking about it.
as for point two: okay.
as for points one and three: laser electrolysis. Kill or stun the follicles.
I don’t know if they have laser electrolysis, actually. I think a lot of quote-unquote cosmetic procedures may not have been reinvented after various breakings due to the widespread availability of shapechanging magic.
Holy crap. Can you imagine hair stubble everywhere on your body?
In addition her body is now laid out in such a way that it expects to be covered in fur. She’d look like a naked mole rat if it was removed.
In addition every single hair removed would be a potential infection point. Ew.

And now you make me wonder what movie it was.
Went to see The Martian myself last Monday. Definitely worth it and recommended!
Also watched American Ultra today (Yeah, I’m Swiss. We’re getting some of the movies somewhat later.). Was quite enjoyable. But I wouldn’t recommend it to people who don’t like that kind of movies (superagent action flicks).

Aww, thanks, Minty. Okay, I have the next one blocked out and some spare time Monday, I should see if I can get it up by noon!
I might be a bit sparse and/or late with comments the next two weeks. I’ll be away on holidays.
Have a good holiday! 🙂
(One of the lovely things about webcomics as a medium is that time-shifting is so much easier.)
