They probably will have trouble, if not an outright impossibility, of returning to their original bodies, because their original bodies have been overwritten by the various spells.
So it’s most likely that they can alter some features, and possibly remove some other features, at best.
Goro’s a surgeon, not a transformation spell expert. That’s the whole reason the dragon doctors exist to work as a team; no single doctor holds enough knowledge to cover every base.

A truly gifted spell-doctor can rearrange the spells into a harmonic, allowing the effects to persist while preventing any damage.
