That’s how depression works. It strikes when you least want it to.
Well. The immediate crisis is over, but now we have to wait for Mori’s rescue…or do we? Hmm….
Damn this arc took four months to complete. Sheez.

Wait… I am just trying to wrap my head around what this would be considered in our time if it goes wrong… The boss with the workers’ kid… On a different note, I AM kind of expecting Hitomi to receive a few “Born yesterday” jabs now or rather the next day, because its a rare opportunity where that works
Oof – I hadn’t thought of that. Unless Hitomi is working for the Dragon Doctors, I don’t think it’s as major a conflict of interest as it might have been, but hopefully things will work out okay.
Wow..
Well, Hitomi has met three people, two of them her parents… so where the romance goes was kinda a sure thing. Might change now gets to meet more people.
But there’s still a heck of a lot that might go wrong, and a lot of loose ends to wrap up.
Hmm… I guess Mori’s demon had the time to think up something new. For if not, he’s clearly at a disadvantage.
Self-abnegation is a real risk, though.
I’m not surprised it took 4 months. It was a hell of a corner you wrote your characters into.
And you wrote them out of it too, without making it seeming cheap. I kinda admire that. 😉
Mori’s demon was ready to let her go, last we saw… Now what is the demon plotting for her?
I’ve got faith, faith of the heart.
Well, taking 4 months to cover an 18 year long story is not so bad.
It is a bit jarring to suddenly remember “Oh wait, this was all part of a BIGGER plot, not a story on its own”, but it’s understandable.
In ordinary circumstances, you could jump back and forth between the A and B plot, but when one story is in a time bubble, the entire concept of “Meanwhile” ceases to be relevant.
Maybe for a gag you could have done a “Meanwhile back in the normal world…” panel and show a scene somewhere frozen in place.
It would probably require a whole strip though, since individual comic panels are devoid of time. Would be really easy to make, though! No dialog and you can just copy/paste the whole scene 5-6 times. Save it for a day you’re totally burned out.
That would have actually made for an adequate and funny filler.

Yes, all of them.
Even if Mori can’t save herself, she has plenty enough faith in the others to save them. For instance, I’ll need to double-check, but I believe Sarin was vaguely aware Mori was in trouble and is doing…SOMETHING…to help. And Sarin, magical badass Sarin is, will produce results.
Yes. Sarin is aware. Last we saw her, she said “Excuse me. I’ve got to save my wife with the power of imagination.” and went into Lotus position.
Hm… true. That might yet spell trouble for the demon, who might not be aware of this.
Nah, Speedbal. It’s okay I enjoy long arcs.
