I wonder what their cars run on. Does those still use gasoline or are they powered by magic?
I’m going to guess NOT gasoline. Could be magic, but more likely electricity. They might use magic to make a really efficient battery or something.
This is the far future, so presumably the petroleum stocks in the ground might be a bit depleted. (Way post peak oil!) Even if oil is cheaply available, electricity is just better for cars anyway — *if* you have a good battery technology.
Actually, this is correct! I was going to exposit it as a proper point some time, but yes, at this point in the future all their cars are electric.
Also, there are far much better uses of petroleum than burning it. You can create plastic from it. Maybe even food.
