In a world of magic, there’s a ton of possible ways Cary could have smuggled that grenade, but I should point out, in a SOCIETY of magic, there’d be just as many countermeasures to prevent them. Tension-point generators to prevent hyperspace pockets, for example. So this is Cary showing off her chops.
IN OTHER NEWS: Still trying to figure out the best way to set up a Patreon system here…but when I do, you guys should be able to, er, patronize me a bit better.
Hmm, I wonder if Cary will lose her Mary Sue abilities if the demon threat she’s supposed to be taking care of well, gets taken care of.
Wondering that too.
And further than that, I wonder if the powers that be will strip her powers when they find out she’s only blocking them. and not eliminating them.
When I first saw this I was wondering what that weird icecream-cone like thing Cary was holding in panel 3 was. Did she pick up a spike from the ground or something? I’m pretty sure the guy didn’t fire a spike at them.
Then I went back to the previous page and saw Cary holding an icecream cone…but back then it STILL HAD ICECREAM IN IT! Bastard made Cary drop her icecream. He really shouldn’t have been surprised to get a grenade in return.
I have this sort of mental image that Cary just had the grenade in her pocket. Just sitting there. Security has scans for pocket dimensions, illusionary disguises, teleport set-ups, ‘ignore me’ spells… but none to just detect a grenade.
…I may have had to deal with a few issues at work that have put me into this mindset.
Yeah, I thought that might be it as well. All kinds of security against magic, but nothing to detect muggle stuff.
I say, if you are close enough to be taken out by a grenade, then you are a poor excuse for a sniper.
Or Cary made a nearly impossible throw all the way to that open window. (Sue powers)
its above tree level, probably second or third story and looks to be across the street, considering i hear about sniping from a mile away a bit more distance would probably be prudent, but the farther you are harder to get a line of sight with out obstacles in the way
Was one hell of a throw from the looks of it, but nowhere near impossible. Also our dear bodyguard would have two new holes to breath through in his head if Cary would have been a split second slower.
That being said, it is quite possible that there would have been a suitable position further away. But we don’t really know enough about the snipers skill, means to get into other spots (or lack thereof) or general surroundings of the place to judge here.
Well, if there is creation magic in your universe Cary could as well make this grenade out of thin air.
That’s some impressive throwing arm. Throwing a grenade ACROSS THE STREET through a SECOND STORY WINDOW! Grenades don’t usually fly that far before they blow.
Who yelled in panel 2?
Or panel 3, for that matter?
Cary, then Logan, I think.
I just noticed that Cary lost her Ice Cream… That’d explain the use of bomb.
