I love Sam’s line. It’s 2000 years after America went the way of the dodo, but the dream lives on, much as we today still remember and are influenced by the Roman Empire. They also live on the same continent; I forget if I established that or not, but it’s in Northern California. I should probably reupload the map of the area to the Extras section.
The other line I’m fond of is “The world is round, but not smooth.” That’s applicable to a lot of things. Ideals are good, but obsession with them leads to so much tragedy. Many crimes are committed in the name of purity, for example.
I love Sam’s line, too. Makes me wonder what stories survived from the U.S. to make that anti-hierarchical attitude part of the popular image of the place.
“I got to fire my own boss, I’M LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM!” – one of the best lines in the whole comic.
Fronteran understanding of The American Dream comes from a video of an old Eddie Izzard stand-up routine.
My head-canon fires on full auto.
G.I. Sam! A Real Fronteran Hero!
Crimes? Many WARS are committed in the name of purity.
So fun fact, there are a lot of US states that are smoother than a pancake, and much of the Earth could be considered smoother than a pancake, but the Earth as a whole is not really that round compared to things like pool balls. It’s too rough and bulges in the middle by a fair amoung.
