   Now that I’ve refreshed myself on exactly what Mr. Smith’s deal is, I wonder if he paid the original fee, or tripled it as Mori specified right before he vanished. The latter actually would say a lot about his character- either he can get real rich real fast even while constantly on the run, or he really does feel at least some regret about what happened the last time he was here.
